Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(guitar music) - Hey everybody, welcome to 24 Frames Presents the South Plains Sessions.
Today we're joined by Lindsay Turner.
How's it going?
- Great, how are you?
- I'm doing great.
So tell us a little bit about yourself.
- Um, my name is Lindsay Turner obviously, I don't know why I'm repeating that.
But I'm from Houston, Texas, I'm 21, I've been doing music for about 14 years now, I think.
And I go to South Plains College right now, in Levelland.
- Uh-huh.
And is South Plains what brought you to the south?
Is South Plains College what brought you to the south plains?
- Actually no, I just wanted change.
You know, a big change from Houston.
So it's nice to get out here and meet friends that do music, especially with the great commercial music program at South Plains.
So, it's been nice.
- Awesome.
And I understand you released an album a couple years ago?
- Yes, back in 2015, I made a full length album.
It's called Exist, it is on iTunes, Spotify.
And it took about two years to make it.
I had some producers help me in Houston.
Sarah Kelly, Jonas Ekman, and they created the whole thing with me.
Helped me through the process, and it ended up turning out pretty well.
But my music is totally different from that album now, considering it's been two years.
- Well, speaking of it being different now, do you have anything that our viewers can check out that's closer to what you're doing now?
- Yes, I have a song on Spotify right now, or I'm sorry, SoundCloud, my friend Blakelee who's joining me later for a song, it's called Our Usual Spot.
And we released it about two weeks ago.
She produced it, she's in the commercial music program.
So she knows a little bit about Pro Tools, so we get to do a little demo of it.
- Awesome.
Well I'll get out of your way and let you guys perform.
Once again everybody, Lindsay Turner.
(applause) - All right, joining me is Blakely Brown.
I wrote this song called Our Usual Spot, which is the one I just said was on SoundCloud.
And she's gonna join me for some harmonies.
