So I've always worked in the restaurant industry and I noticed that there was something missing between people not making the connection and what is on their plate, where their food came from, and the amount of waste.
So what I did was create something that was already prepared and people got to enjoy their meals with the perfect portion, already prepped, delivered right to them, and it really took off.
We started our business right before COVID, and I was delivering these meals right to people's homes and now I get to deliver still, and we have a location for people to pick up and enjoy them.
So for the last two years, I've been leasing land in Bear Lake, it's about a quarter acre and I grew everything from herbs, vegetables, we grew pumpkins, I composted as much as I could as well.
So what I really try and do is use every vegetable and everything to its full integrity, including using the scraps for broth.
And so I'm bringing that right to town now, and I really hope that when people see a garden right in town, with the amount of things that we're growing and just the room that we're using, it encourages them to grow themselves.
Our family's always been like an ingredient family where we were comfortable in the kitchen and our parents made it really comfortable for us to learn in the kitchen rather than like, "Don't touch that."
So it was really encouraging to be hands-on and has really helped me continue to be hands-on in the kitchen and teach others to do so as well.
So we don't consider ourselves a restaurant, we consider ourselves like a healthy grab-and-go and a place for people to experience.
We have supper clubs, we also rent our dining room for people so they can have baby showers, meetings, any other celebrations that they are doing, but we don't consider ourselves like a classic restaurant.
We just want to prepare healthy meals for people to come and grab and enjoy on their way out.
I do feel like there are not as many dietary-friendly stores, especially in our little town, but we try and work really hard with people who have any dietary restrictions, I've been cooking and preparing gluten-free meals for over 10 years now, any other dietary restrictions, we work with them really well.
Our plans are to really expand and do more like supper clubs, teach people about where their food is coming from, how to really pair flavors, we wanna do cooking classes.
One of my biggest passions is really making the connection with the younger generation and teaching them how to grow, and how to prepare food, and get the most out of everything.
